Animatics

This is the Animatic that myself and my group had created, this is so we can get an idea of what our opening sequence is going to look like. This is very useful as it lets us see if the shots go well together, if the music matches the theme and how long roughly the opening sequence is. We created this by using the photos that we draw on our storyboards, as we then put then together in the specific order. In addition the music we have chose for this does go well with the sequence in the sense that it gradually builds up which is effective as it will be building tension and excitement for the audience. In this animatic we have been able to add in the titles over the shots, this allows us to see that the titles could be kept on for a bit longer so the audience are able to see them clearly.

As you can see from the beginning of this sequence we have the distribution company logo and we have decided to choose Lionsgate for this. The reason for this is because they have a history of being involved with thriller movies which is perfect for relating to the thriller we have chosen.

Our feedback that we got from other groups about are animatics were that we should make the titles last for longer on the screen and slow them down. I agree with this feedback because if the titles are too quick then the audience won't get the chance to be able to read them properly which doesn't make it very effective. One of the important titles that the audience may want to see is the main character's name. Another reason for the titles to be at a bit of a slower pace is because the titles are on the screen with the shots and the filming, so the audience will automatically be watching the scenes but can also look at the titles too however if the titles go too quick they will be distracted by the filming so won't get a chance to see them. From the feedback that myself and my group got we have made the change to make the titles appear on screen a bit more slowly and longer.
